Life Imprisonment: Appeal court Frees Prophet Sotitobire

 

The Appeal Court sitting in Akure, the Ondo State capital has upturned the life imprisonment conviction of prophet Babatunde Alfa over disappearance of Gold Kolawole in his Church, Sotitobire Praisimg Chapel in November 2019.

An Ondo state high court had sentenced prophet alfa Babatunde to life imprisonment over disappearance of a one year old boy, Gold Kolawole in his Church in November 2019.

Sotitibire founder had asked the appeal court to nullify his life sentence conviction by the court.

The court ruled that the circumstantial evidence the high court based its judgement on is not enough to convict him.

He was therefore discharged and acquitted.

Justice Gamma Barka read the judgement on behalf of other judges.
