Life Continues After Death

By Pst Olumide Akinrinlola

Death Is Not a punishment and it is not the end of a Man. There is life after death. What is death? Death can be defined as the separations of the Physical body from the Spirit Man & Soul. It means life continues after death. Read the book of 1st Cor 15 vs38-54.

The verses above did justice about the type of bodies we have and the continuation of life after death. It explains what a celestial and terrestrial body is all about. It talks about the resurrection of the dead and its separation from one body to the other after death.

Everybody has his or her Number of time and years to be spent on earth. The earth is not our home. Heaven is our original home but we are on earth to fulfil one or two purposes. Our original being is the Spirit man which never dies. But the spirit man, which was formed in God’s image cannot operate alone without the physical body. And that was why God formed our body with the dust of the earth and breath into it.

Our spirit man now enters into the body and operate in it. When someone dies, the spirit man will separate from the physical body and go back to God to either continue living with God in eternal life or to the lake of fire for everlasting torment.

When a man dies, the body and the spirit will separate and go to different places. The physical body returns to the dust while the spirit Man would return to God in life eternal or condemnation. Read Psalm 146 vs 3 -4 for your understanding.

In Genesis chapter 1 vs 27, the bible says: So God created man in his image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created him them.

In chapter 2 vs 5-7 of the same book of Genesis, the bible told us that there was not a man on earth to till the ground and later God formed another Man with the dust of the earth.

Read below: Gen 2 vs 5-7:

“And every plant of the field before it was in the earth, and every herb of the field before it grew: for the LORD God had not caused it to rain upon the earth, and there was not a man to till the ground. But there went up a mist from the earth and watered the whole face of the ground. And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and man became a living soul. ”

The two verses are two different things. It does not contradict one another as erroneously believed by some people.

The first creature (man) in Genesis ch 1 vs 27 was in the image of God and that is the spirit Man while the other man in Gen ch 2 vs 5-7 was the physical Man.

God created the spirit man in Genesis ch 1 vs 27 and created a body through the dust of the earth in Genesis ch 2 vs 5-7. Our body is just a mere body formed with the dust of the earth to house the spirit man. It means there is you in you – man living in man. The man living in us is the inner man.

The component of a Man is made up of Body, Spirit and Soul. The soul and spirit are connected. The Soul is the essence of our being. The spirit is what connects us with God. The soul is life. The soul and the spirit are your complete being whether after death or during your physical life. They always function together. Some people see both the spirit and soul as the same thing because they are connected. So, during the death of a man, the spirit and soul will be separated from the body and that is where the word death comes in.

The book of Ecclesiastes 12:7 says that when we die “the dust returns to the earth as it was, and the spirit returns to God who gave it.”

Death is not a punishment or end of a Man. Many are bereaved when their loved one is dead because they don’t know what happens next. They never knew the spirit lives on.

The Book of Ecclesiastes: ch 3 vs 2 says: there is a time to be born, and a time to die. So if only we know where à Man is going after death, we will not cry or mourn the dead cos the separation of his body from his spirit and soul is NOT the end of his life.

And that is why we must all be born again and die in Christ to guarantee our eternal life after death.

My brother and sister, if you die without Christ, you will blame your body in the mortuary and would continue to blame your spirit in the lake of fire.

Repent now!

Says: Lord Jesus, I am sorry for my sins. Forgive me today. Have mercy on me. I confess you today as my Lord and Saviour. I will never go back to my sins again. Come into my life and remain there forever. (Amen)
