LASEMA subjects Christ Embassy church building to testing after fire incident

A major fire that engulfed the Christ Embassy Church headquarters in Oregun, Ikeja, Lagos State, on Sunday has been successfully contained.

Dr. Olufemi Damilola Oke-Osanyintolu, the Permanent Secretary of the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency, confirmed that the fire has been subdued and efforts to salvage property are ongoing.

She emphasized that the operation was a collaborative effort involving all key stakeholders, and fortunately, there were no casualties or fatalities, contrary to earlier reports.

The brief statement reads, “The massive fire has been brought under control, and dampening down is ongoing, with monitored property salvage. The operation involved all key stakeholders. The building will undergo materials testing.

“There were no casualties or fatalities despite reports to the contrary. No further updates.”
