Lagos govt arrests celebrant, 4 others for blocking road for birthday party

The Lagos State government on Monday, said it arrested five persons for blocking a road the Ikoyi area of the state.

The Lagos state commissioner for Environment and Water Resources, Tokunbo Wahab said the individuals were arrested FBN on Saturday, October 19for constituting environment nuisance.

According to Wahab, those arrested include the birthday celebrant, an event planner, musician, and others, for obstructing traffic and creating an environmental nuisance.

In a post made on X, Wahab listed those arrested as Omolara Ajetumobi, the event planner; Ogundare Olubunmi, the celebrant; Ayodele Busuyi; musician; Owoeye Adedayo, sound engineer and Akinola Akinkunmi; vendor

He said, “The suspects were arrested for blocking Raymond Njoku Road in Southwest, Ikoyi during a birthday celebration.”

The commissioner further noted that these individuals will be tried in court in accordance with the laws of Lagos State.

He added, “The Lagos State Government reiterates that no one is above the law and will not be permitted to disregard State regulations.”
