Two members of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Lanre Afinni and Sylvester Ogunkelu, are being questioned by the police in relation to a recent conflict within the assembly.
The incident centers around the removal of the former Speaker, Mudashiru Obasa, on January 13.
Obasa was replaced by his deputy, Mojisola Lasbat Meranda, while he was out of the country.
Ogunkelu was taken into police custody, while Afinni was granted bail for health reasons.
The two lawmakers are being investigated for allegedly damaging government property during the chaotic session when Obasa was ousted.
On that day, they reportedly forced their way into the chamber and damaged a door to retrieve the mace, a key symbol of authority.
Investigators have been questioning the lawmakers about their involvement in the incident.
Obasa has since criticized his removal, claiming the process was unconstitutional.
The assembly, however, has upheld its decision.
