Kemi Olunloyo, the controversial media figure, has publicly declared that she no longer associates with her family following the death of her father, former Oyo State Governor Dr. Victor Omololu Olunloyo.
The former governor, a respected mathematician and politician, passed away on Sunday, April 6, at the age of 89.
Olunloyo made the announcement on her social media platforms, including Facebook and TikTok.
She expressed that she no longer considers herself a member of the Olunloyo family and would not accept any condolences related to her father’s passing.
She emphasized that her decision to distance herself from the family was final, citing her previous statements made in 2024 about never returning to Nigeria, even in the event of her parents’ deaths.
In her posts, Olunloyo discussed the complex and difficult relationship she had with her father.
She described him as a man with two faces: one for the public and another for the family.
She claimed that he caused emotional and physical harm to her and her siblings during their childhood, which led to the destruction of their family unit.
Olunloyo also mentioned how her father presented her to the public as his favorite child, but in reality, she felt exploited and used by him.
Additionally, Olunloyo alleged that her father was involved in occult practices for many years before converting to Christianity later in life.
She also touched on the strain caused by her father’s marriage to Aderonke Omololu Olunloyo, which led to a family rift.
This marriage, she claimed, had a profound impact on her mother, especially after Ronke became pregnant, which was a painful experience for her mother.
