Katsina Government, NLC, TUC Reach Agreement on ₦70,000 Minimum Wage

The Katsina State Government and the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) have successfully reached an agreement on a ₦70,000 minimum wage adjustment, averting a strike that was scheduled to begin on December 1.

The agreement, finalized late Friday, was signed by Abdullahi Garba Faskari, the Secretary to the State Government, on behalf of the state government. The NLC state chairman, along with other union leaders, signed the agreement representing organized labour.

The new minimum wage will come into effect in December 2024.
