American rapper Kanye West has publicly urged former U.S. President Donald Trump to grant a pardon to fellow hip-hop mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs, who is currently in jail.

According to Afripost, Diddy is facing more than 30 civil lawsuits related to allegations of sexual assault and misconduct.

He is also awaiting trial in New York on federal charges, including sex trafficking and racketeering.

On Thursday, Kanye took to his X (formerly Twitter) page to appeal for Diddy’s release, writing:
“@realDonaldTrump, please free my brother Puff.”

Diddy was arrested by Homeland Security in September last year and has been in custody ever since. He has denied all allegations and pleaded not guilty during a court appearance on September 17. However, his bail requests have been denied twice.

Recently, the music mogul was hospitalized in Brooklyn due to a knee injury but was returned to his cell after receiving treatment.

His trial is set to begin later this year.
