The governor, in a statement released by his spokesperson, Sunusi Tofa, expressed deep sorrow over the attack and directed security agencies to immediately track down and arrest those behind the crime.

According to the statement, Yusuf described the killing of a mother and her innocent children as senseless and a grave assault on humanity, stressing that such an act has no place in a peaceful society.

He extended his condolences to the bereaved family, the residents of Dorayi Chiranchi and the entire people of Kano State, while praying for the repose of the souls of the deceased and strength for those affected by the tragedy.

The incident reportedly occurred in Dorayi Chiranchi, Kumbotso Local Government Area, where a woman identified as Fatima Abubakar and her six children were killed after unknown assailants invaded their home.

The bodies of the victims were later recovered and taken to the Murtala Muhammed Specialist Hospital in Kano, while the matter was reported at the Kumbotso Police Division, leading to the commencement of investigations.

Governor Yusuf vowed that his administration would not allow the crime to go unpunished, insisting that the perpetrators must be brought to justice.

He ordered the Kano State Police Command to launch an immediate manhunt for the suspects and directed the Kano State Neighbourhood Corps to intensify patrols and community surveillance, especially in vulnerable areas.
