JUST IN: Why I Fell During Democracy Day Celebration – Tinubu Breaks Silence

By Our Correspondent

President Bola Tinubu has broken silence on his Democracy Day’s fall at Eagles Square in Abuja.

A viral video showed the moment Tinubu slipped while boarding the presidential parade vehicle.

The President approached the vehicle shortly after he arrived at the venue of the programme, but lost his footing momentarily as he was about to step into the vehicle.

However, despite the slip, the President quickly regained his balance and continued with the proceedings with the help of his security aides

Recounting the incident, Tinubu laughed about it, attributing it to his Yoruba heritage.

He jokingly referred to his stumble as a display of swagger for the day, emphasizing his cultural roots by mentioning the traditional Yoruba act of ‘dobale’.

“I did my Dobale this morning as a Yoruba man for Democracy Day”, the president said during the state Banquet Dinner at the Presidential Villa on Wednesday night.
