Medical students at the University College Hospital (UCH), Ibadan, gathered on Monday to protest the hospital’s prolonged power and water shortages.
The demonstration took place at the office of the Chief Medical Director (CMD), Jesse Otegbayo, as students demanded urgent solutions.
For over 100 days, UCH has been without electricity, affecting students’ living conditions and academic activities.
The protestors held placards with messages calling for an immediate restoration of power.
Meanwhile, the Minister of Power, Adebayo Adelabu, and the CMD met with stakeholders at the hospital’s conference room to discuss ways to resolve the crisis.
Students previously staged a protest on January 26 at the State and Federal Secretariats in Ibadan but received no response.
They vowed to continue their demonstrations until power is restored.
