JUST IN: Tinubu Signs N54.9 Trillion Budget for 2025

President Bola Tinubu on Tuesday officially signed Nigeria’s 2025 national budget into law.

This budget totals N54.99 trillion, marking a significant rise of 99.96% from the N27.5 trillion allocated for 2024.

The budget had passed through the National Assembly on February 13, following adjustments to Tinubu’s original proposal of N49.7 trillion.

The 2025 budget’s breakdown includes total expenditures of N54.99 trillion, with N3.65 trillion set aside for statutory transfers.

A major portion, N13.64 trillion, will go towards recurrent (non-debt) expenditures, while N23.96 trillion will be directed towards capital investments.

The budget also allocates N14.32 trillion for servicing the country’s debt, and it sets the deficit-to-GDP ratio at 1.52%.
