JUST IN: Three Imo lawmakers dump APGA, join PDP

Three lawmakers elected on the platform of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) on Tuesday defected to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Imo state.

The lawmakers, Chyna Iwuanyanwu, Chidi Ogbunikpa and Onyemaechi Njoku, who represent Nwangele, Okigwe and Ihitte Uboma state constituencies respectively, said that their defection was to enable them serve their constituents better.

The speaker, Chiji Collins, read their individual letters of defections during Tuesday’s plenary.

The defection of the three lawmakers meant that APGA now has just a lawmaker in the state assembly.
