JUST-IN : Sowore Declares Massive Protest in Ondo, Calls For Akeredolu’s Resignation

Human Rights Activist and former presidential candidate, Omoyele Sowore, has announced plans for a protest scheduled to take place on Saturday, December 16th, 2023, in various locations across Ondo State.

The aim of this demonstration is to voice dissatisfaction with the prolonged absence of the ailing state governor, Rotimi Akeredolu.

Governor Akeredolu, who recently returned from medical treatment in Germany, has yet to resume his official duties and has been governing remotely from his residence in Ibadan.

This ongoing absence has sparked tension and political unrest within the state, prompting calls from multiple quarters for the governor to either resume his duties promptly or consider resigning if his health impedes his ability to govern effectively.

Before the planned protest, a town hall meeting is scheduled to be held at the Akure Town Hall.

Omoyele Sowore, as the organizer of the protest in collaboration with the Take It Back Movement, has extended an invitation to all individuals advocating for justice and accountability to join the demonstration.
