JUST IN: Protest Erupts in Akure as Farmers Killed in Fresh Attack

Tension has gripped Akure, the Ondo State capital, as protesters stormed the Governor’s Office in Alagbaka following the killing of five farmers by suspected armed herdsmen within the past 24 hours.

The victims were reportedly attacked at Aba Oyinbo in Akure North Local Government Area in the early hours of Wednesday. This comes barely two weeks after a similar assault in which about 20 farmers lost their lives across four farm settlements in the same area.

The enraged demonstrators, carrying the bodies of the slain farmers, blocked the entrance to the Governor’s Office, demanding immediate action from the state government.

The attack has heightened concerns over insecurity in the region, with residents calling for urgent intervention to prevent further bloodshed.
