Just In: Bello Turji’s Gang Strikes Zamfara Mosque, Abducts Worshippers

By Bayero Ade

A gang of armed bandits led by the notorious warlord Bello Turji launched an attack on a mosque in the Shanawa community of Zamfara State on Wednesday night, leaving several worshippers injured and abducting an undisclosed number of individuals.

Security analyst Bakatsine confirmed that the assailants struck during the Isha prayer, injuring four people before whisking others away. The attackers then advanced towards Shinkafi town at around 10 p.m., where they continued their violent spree, abducting more residents.

Eyewitnesses described the assault, reported by Afripost, as a well-coordinated and ruthless operation. However, the exact number of kidnapped victims remains uncertain, exacerbating fear among local communities.

Authorities have yet to issue an official statement on the incident. Meanwhile, residents have renewed calls for the government to take decisive action against Turji’s gang, which has been responsible for a string of kidnappings and violent raids across Zamfara and neighbouring states.
