Governor Umo Eno of Akwa Ibom State has dissolved his cabinet, relieving all commissioners and special advisers of their duties. The governor explained that the move was necessary to bring in fresh perspectives and professionals to accelerate the state’s development goals.
According to Politics Nigeria, the announcement was made on Friday during a valedictory session held at the Exco Chamber in Uyo.
While addressing the outgoing officials, Governor Eno lauded their dedication and contributions, highlighting the success of his administration’s “Arise Agenda.”
“All of you have delivered, which is why the Arise Agenda has been successful,” he said. “But it’s time to close one chapter, open a new one, and continue moving forward.”
Many of the commissioners had served for nearly a decade, with some appointed during the administration of former Governor Udom Emmanuel.
It is believed that Governor Eno retained them to ensure a smooth handover and as a gesture of appreciation for their years of service to the state.
