Jubilation as Aiyedatiwa’s Wife Reportedly Returns After Long Absence

After months of speculation and private appeals, the wife of Ondo State Governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, made a dramatic return to the Government House on Saturday, coinciding with a wedding ceremony at the chapel.

Efforts of religious leaders and the entire state appear to have yielded results, as sources close to the family revealed to Starnews NG that Aiyedatiwa and his wife had been making relentless moves to reconcile, with both parties working towards her return ahead of his inauguration on February 24.

The prayers seemed to have been answered when the First Lady walked into the chapel during the wedding of the governor’s niece, leaving attendees stunned.

Starnews NG gathered that the moment her presence was noticed, the hall erupted in applause and joy, with guests unable to contain their excitement. The governor, who was hosting a separate event within the Government House premises, was said to have been caught off guard by her arrival.

Her sudden appearance may not be unconnected with the wedding and the growing demand by the people of Ondo State for her return. Many had called for her presence in the affairs of the state, seeing her absence as a missing link in governance.

In a moment that further cemented her return, the officiating priest at the chapel publicly acknowledged her presence, addressing her as Her Excellency, a remark that drew further applause from the congregation. The recognition of the First Lady by the cleric was seen as a symbolic honour, underscoring her place in the affairs of the state.

Her return comes amid heightened political activity in the state, as Aiyedatiwa prepares to be sworn in for his first full term as governor. The development has now fueled fresh speculation about the state of their relationship and its potential impact on the political landscape.

This is a good step in the right direction. The presence of Mrs Ayedatiwa will make the Governor more responsible to his duties as the father of the state.
