John Mahama Mistakenly Calls Tinubu President of Ghana

At his inauguration on Tuesday, Ghana’s president, John Mahama, made a slip of the tongue when he referred to Nigerian President Bola Tinubu as “President of the Federal Republic of Ghana.”

Mahama made the mistake during his speech while addressing guests at the event.

This verbal blunder quickly spread on social media, where many reacted with humour and sarcasm, Cable reports.

Tinubu had arrived in Accra on Monday to attend Mahama’s swearing-in, after Mahama’s re-election victory in December. Before the ceremony, Mahama had visited Tinubu in Abuja following the Nigerian president’s congratulatory message to Ghana’s newly elected leader.
