Jesus Did Not Associate with Poor People – Pastor Ibiyeomie Claims

Pastor David Ibiyeomie of Salvation Ministries on Sunday told his congregation that Jesus Christ did not spend time with poor people during His time on earth.

The pastor, known for his strong views, said poverty and Christianity do not go hand in hand.

While speaking during a church service, Ibiyeomie said that Jesus’ mission was not only to save souls but also to lift people out of poverty.

He explained that being poor after accepting Christ shows a lack of knowledge about the true purpose of Jesus’ life, death, and resurrection.

The preacher told his church members that if they read the Bible closely, they would see that Jesus only visited people who were not poor.

He mentioned Lazarus and Zacchaeus as examples, both of whom, according to him, were not in poverty.

He added that while it is okay to come to church in a poor state, remaining poor is not acceptable for someone who claims to follow Christ.

He described poverty as something that should not be part of a believer’s life, stressing that Jesus came to change that situation for anyone who truly believes.

Pastor Ibiyeomie has made similar strong remarks in the past, and this recent statement stirred reactions from many, especially on social media, where people expressed mixed feelings.
