The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has taken action against 132 Computer-Based Test (CBT) centres across Nigeria after finding errors in candidates’ registration data.
This decision follows the conclusion of the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) registration, where issues were detected in some applications.
According to JAMB’s weekly bulletin released on Monday, the errors involved one or two candidates per centre, totaling 200 cases out of more than two million registered candidates.
Although this number is small, JAMB insisted that any error in registration can affect the credibility of the examination process.
The affected candidates have been asked to visit any JAMB office to correct their information.
JAMB has also permanently removed the registration officers responsible for these mistakes from handling any future registration or examination activities.
In addition to penalizing the centres involved, JAMB issued a final warning to several others across different states, urging them to be more careful during registration.
The board stressed that all CBT centres must ensure accuracy in data collection to maintain the credibility of the examination system.
