The suspended resident electoral commissioner in Adamawa state, Hudu Yunusa-Ari, is facing legal action as the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has lodged a six-count charge against him. These charges have been officially presented at the high court in Yola, the capital of Adamawa state.
In a statement released on Thursday, INEC disclosed that the charges were filed subsequent to a thorough review of the police’s case file, which established a strong basis against Yunusa-Ari. The Nigeria Police Force (NPF) apprehended Yunusa-Ari due to his alleged misconduct during the governorship election in Adamawa.
Despite his arrest, Yunusa-Ari was granted administrative bail but ordered to report to the NPF headquarters every weekday.
