I’m not responsible for Plantashun Boiz’s split – Kenny Ogungbe

By Miracle Ogunde

In response to viral rumours that Plantashun Boiz broke up after Kennis Music signed star singer 2Face, the ace music executive and CEO of Kennis Music, Kenny Ogungbe, has cleared the air on the controversy surrounding the group’s breakup.

Addressing the matter in a recent episode of The Honest Bunch podcast, Baba Keke said the group had already disbanded when 2Face approached him for assistance.

He said, “People have been saying I’m the one responsible for the breakup of Plantashun Boiz.

“That’s not true. 2Face came to me himself after the group had broken up that he wanted to sign with Kennis Music, and Eedris Abdulkareem told me to sign him, which I did.”

Plantashun Boiz, a group comprising 2Face, Blackface, and Faze, split in 2004 after the release of their sophomore album Sold Out.

In 2007, the group reunited for a third and final album, Plan B, before splitting again.
