  • Asks traditional rulers to question Jimi Odimayo over abandoned NDDC’s Jetty Project

A Chieftain of the All Progressive Congress (APC) and a former member of the Ondo State House of Assembly from lrele local government council, Hon. Afolabi Iwalewa, on Sunday, asked members of the ruling APC to disregard the rumour of Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu’s disqualification by the APC screening committee ahead of the party’s primary.

Hon Iwalewa told party men to ignore the rumour following his political visit to Akotogbo, lyansan and ljuosun communities in Irele local government area of Ondo State.

Starnews NG reports that barely eight days to the governorship primary of the APC in Ondo state, the rumour that governor Rotimi Akeredolu was disqualified from participating in the election was widely spread on the social media over the weekend.

To douse the anxiety which has created fear in the minds of Akeredolu’s supporters, Iwalewa said the widely circulated rumour was only a figment of the imagination of those opposed to Akeredolu’s second term agenda within the party.

The former Lawmaker said Governor Akeredolu has been screened and cleared to contest the forthcoming primary election of APC, urging party faithful to ignore distraction and continue to work for the victory of Akeredolu at the primary.

In another development, Iwalewa has absolved governor Akeredolu over the abandonment of Niger Delta Development Commission, NDDC’s JETTY PROJECT at the three communities of Akotogbo, lyansan and ljuosun.

Iwalewa told the royal fathers of the three communities to ask the contractor, Omoba Jimi Odimayo, a governorship Aspirant and a son of the soil why the contract awarded to him was not executed.
