IG Egbetokun Dismisses Osun PDP’s Allegations

Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, has dismissed allegations from the Osun State Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) that he is working with the All Progressives Congress (APC) to reinstate former local government chairmen in the state.

The PDP had accused Egbetokun of attempting to destabilize Osun and even plotting against Governor Ademola Adeleke. The party made these claims during a press briefing in Osogbo.

Responding in Abuja while decorating senior officers, Egbetokun said he would not engage in what he described as unreasonable discussions. He stated that he only addresses falsehoods with facts and would not be distracted by baseless claims.

He explained that the deployment of additional police officers to Osun was purely based on a request from the state’s Commissioner of Police for reinforcement. He assured residents that law enforcement is in place to maintain order.

Egbetokun urged the people of Osun to stay calm and continue with their daily activities, assuring them that peace has been restored.
