Ibadan man remanded for biting woman’s lips

On Wednesday, the Mapo Chief Magistrate Court in Ibadan issued a ruling for the detention of Dolapo Taju, aged 27, at Agodi Prison custody for allegedly biting the lips of Joy Apenago.

Magistrate O.O. Latunji ordered the remand of Mr. Taju when he failed to meet the bail conditions of N200,000 along with two reliable sureties.

The case was adjourned until July 3 for the trial to begin, with the defendant having pleaded not guilty to the one-count charge of assault causing harm.

During proceedings, the prosecution, represented by Oluseye Akinola, informed the court that Taju was apprehended on Thursday in the Ojaba area of Ibadan, Oyo.

Mr Akinola said Mr Taju bit the lips of Ms Apenago during a disagreement between them.
