I will secure Kano for APC in 2027 —Doguwa

Federal lawmaker Alhassan Doguwa from Kano State has pledged to secure the state for the All Progressives Congress, APC, in the upcoming 2027 general elections.

Doguwa made this declaration on Sunday in Abuja while responding to claims by fellow lawmaker Abdulmumini Jibrin, who suggested that Doguwa was a threat to the APC’s electoral prospects in Kano State. Jibrin also described Doguwa as a political liability to the party.

In his response, Doguwa vowed to ensure the APC’s success in 2027 and expressed his desire to serve as the Director-General (D-G) of the party’s campaign in the state.

“I want to use this opportunity to respectfully request the leadership of our party to allow me to coordinate and serve as a D-G of the Kano State Campaign Project in 2027.

“I am not a political liability in Kano;  I am an asset, a source of pride for  the APC both in the state and the country, ” he said.

Doguwa is the only member of the House of Representatives elected under the platform of the ruling APC in Kano South Senatorial District.

He represents Tudun-Wada/Doguwa Federal Constituency, and  he is the chairman of the House Committee on Petroleum Resources (Upstream).

He has been embroiled in a verbal attack with Mr Jibrin,  another lawmaker from Kano State who represents Kiru/Bebeji federal constituency on the platform of the New  Nigerian People  Party, NNPP,.
