I Can’t Join Protest Where Nnamdi Kanu’s Release Is Listed As Demand – Bashir Ahmad

As the nationwide protests continue to gain momentum, former presidential aide Bashir Ahmad has publicly stated his reasons for not participating.

The protests, which have seen a diverse coalition of Nigerians demanding sweeping reforms, include the unconditional release of Nnamdi Kanu, a prominent leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), among their non-negotiable demands.

Bashir Ahmad, who served as an aide to former President Muhammadu Buhari, took to social media to express his opposition to this particular demand.

In a strongly worded statement on X formerly Twitter Ahmad made his position clear:

“You should not expect me to join a protest where the unconditional release of terrorist Nnamdi Kanu is listed as one of the non-negotiable demands. Never!”
