A former Director, Civil Society of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Presidential Campaign Council, PCC, Hajiya Naja’atu Muhammad, has asserted that if Nigeria is at war with Niger, the president, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, can declare a martial law that will allow him to stay in power indefinitely, irrespective of the decision of the Tribunal proceeding challenging his election.
Naja’atu, who made this assertions recently in a statement as reported by the Daily Trust Newspaper, while describing the quest to declare war on Niger Republic military junta by the Tinubu – led ECOWAS as a ploy to distract Nigerians from the Tribunal process, declared; “If Nigeria is at war (with Niger), Tinubu can declare a state of emergency or a martial law that will allow him to remain in power indefinitely, putting aside any tribunal or judicial process challenging his eligibility to even contest the election.”
The former APC PCC director, who visibly expressed the view that the president was only eager to order military intervention in Niger for his own selfish political gains; as regard staying in power; went further to assert that Tinubu knew he was not even eligible to contest the presidency in the first place.
