How The Word, “I Love You” Can Take You To Hell

Pastor Olumide Akinrinlola

Yes, the word, “I love you” is indeed part of the intimacy of love. But most often, the word is being used deceptively against their target.

True Love is not an expression of the words of the mouth but from deep inside our heart. To showcase your love for the one you loved is better than the expression of the word of love from the mouth.

The word ‘I love you can take you to hell. It will take you to hell if you are using it deceptively against your target.

God considers 7 things as abominable before Him and one of the seven sins is a lying tongue. God hates a liar. (Proverbs 6:16-17).

A person who lies hates the individual they are lying to, according to the book of Proverbs 26:28. And if you hate another human being, God views the hater as a murderer (1 John 3:15; 1 John 4:20).

Not only that, the Bible says that no liar will inherit the Kingdom of God. Revelation 21:8 says, “But as for the cowardly, the faithless, the detestable, as for murderers, the sexually immoral, sorcerers, idolaters, and all liars, their portion will be in the lake that burns with fire and sulfur, which is the second death.”

I told them in a Bible class recently that I don’t believe in the expression of love with words of the mouth such as : I love you, sweetie, my heart beat, my Soul, my one and only, etc.

My stance was on the fact that you can express your love for the person you love better in action rather than by words of the mouth.

Many women in the Bible class were very upset with me when I made my contribution, but when I opened their understanding, they all later agreed with me that the word could indeed be deceptive.

You see! That somebody says he loves you does not really mean he loves you as said.

A friend got married and for good one year, the couple couldn’t understand themselves. Why? The reason the husband is very factual and doesn’t like hiding the truth from his wife.

The husband was so raw that he always express his true mind to his wife. But he said he had to stop from saying the truth. He began to tell lies after he understood that his wife doesn’t like to hear the truth.

According to him, he started the deception of, oh, my darling wife, the soup is very sweet and tasty, when indeed, the soup has been over salted.

From the day he started that deception, he said peace was restored to his home.

To him, it is the peace of God. But to God, he is a liar. He is deceptive and has been possessed with a lying spirit. I told him he can tell the truth with love, regardless of whether his wife is pleased or not.

What makes you think that the man will not go out and eat a better food devoid of too much salt somewhere?

Isn’t it better to always correct the wife with love until she improves on her cooking instead of deceiving her?

Inside his heart, the man wasn’t satisfied with the food. But he deceived the woman only to please her. On the other way, he wasn’t pleased. The temptation of going out to get better food somewhere is high.

Our women and many people love deceit. But God hates deceit. And that is why the ways of God are not our ways (Isaiah 55:8).

Therefore, we must not love God the way we express love for one another in deceit and propaganda.

The message here is that you cannot love God or claim to love him by the expression of the words of the mouth. However you can only love Him from your heart with the expression of the fear you have for Him.

The bible says in Mathew 15:8 that:

“These people draweth nigh unto me with their mouth, and honoureth me with their lips; but their heart is far from me”

God does not assess our love for Him by our blabbing. True love is from our heart and expression of our fear for God. When you love God genuinely, you will fear Him and when you fear Him, you will obey all His commandments and not some commandments.

You do not love God and fear Him when you are selecting which commandment to obey and which one not to obey.

Are you guilty of the word “I Love You”? Please repent now!

Ask for God’s forgiveness and accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and Saviour.

I just told you ..

Say : Lord Jesus, I am sorry for my sin. Forgive me. (confess your sin) I accept you today as my Lord and Saviour, come into my life and remain there forever. Amen.
