How Chelle took huge pay cut to bag Super Eagles job

By Miracle Ogunde

A latest report has revealed how Eric Chelle took a huge pay cut to take charge of the Super Eagles of Nigeria.

The Malian recently quit his post as head coach of MC Oran to take over the Super Eagles.

According to SCORENigeria, Chelle earned a lot more with the Algerian club MC Oran than he will with the Super Eagles.

The 47-year-old, who is expected in Abuja on Sunday, will put pen to paper on a two-year contract.

The former Eagles of Mali head coach will look to revive Nigeria’s dwindling 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying hopes.

The Super Eagles currently sit in fifth position in Group C with three points from four games.

The three-time African champions will confront the Amavubi of Rwanda and the Warriors of Zimbabwe when the qualifiers resume in March.
