A Public Affairs Analyst and Human Rights Crusader, who resides in Canada, Mr. Olujimi Adekanle, popularly known as JAF, has decried the high level of corruption ongoing in Okitipupa Oil Palm PLC in Okitipupa Local Government Area of Ondo state.
In a public letter made available to Starnews Nigeria on Friday, the analyst indicted the Managing Director of Okitipupa Oil Palm Plc of corruption, Mr Taiwo Adewole, saying “he (Adewole) finished Okitipupa Oil palm company, meant for the people of Ikale in Ondo State, while calling on the state governor, Mr Lucky Aiyedatiwa to take immediate action on the matter.
According to Adekanle, in his opinion, said, “Adewole who is an indigene of Owo, was brought to Okitipupa Oil palm to milk the state resources by the wife and son of late Ondo State Governor, Betty and Babajide Akeredolu respectively.
He opined that “He, (Adewole) was first brought in as executive director of the company and later elevated to the position of MD.
He said, “Adewole is a well known person claiming to be an agriculturist. They brought him in the year 2020 or thereabouts to kill Okitipupa Oil palm PLC for people who do not care about the people they govern. Okitipupa Oil palm Plc has currently gone moribund because all his attention is to take money from the people and remit percentage to Babajide Akeredolu and his Mother.
Giving a thorough analysis, Mr Adekanle said, “We have 23,000 acres in the Okitipupa Oil palm Plc. In the year 2020, Adewole gave each hectares out for 25,000. In simple arithmetic, he made over 500 million in the year 2020 alone . For clarity sake, I will do the calculation myself for us to see.
“Year 2020
23,000 acres × 25000 = 575,000,000 million. The following year, he increased the price from 25k to 35k. He made over 800 million in the year 2021.
“Year 2021
23,000 acres×35000 = 805,000,000 million. He went ahead in the year 2022 and increased the price to 55k per hectare. He made over one billion.
“Year 2022
23,000×55000 = 1,265,000,000 billion. In the year 2023, he augmented the price again to 150,000 per hectare. He made over 2 billion.
“Year 2023
23,000×150000 = 2,119,450,000 billion. The man went ahead to rent out 60% of the farm estate and keeps 40% to himself and his benefactors that brought him for the year 2024.
“13800×124,250 = 1,714,650,000 billion. The total amount he realized since 2020 is over N6 billion. He made 6,479,100,000 billion in total.
“I challenge Taiwo Adewole to deny my assertions here. I challenge Babajide Akeredolu and Betty to deny my stance. I’m calling my friend and brother, the Executive Governor of Ondo State, H.E Lucky Ayedatiwa to summon Taiwo Adewole to explain to the people what is going on in Okitipupa Oil palm Plc.
“We are calling on Mr Governor to allow Ikale to manage their resources,” he added.
