Gunmen Kill RCCG Pastor, Security Agencies Rescue Kidnapped Members

Gunmen suspected to be kidnappers have attacked a parish of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) in Abule-Ori, Obafemi Owode Local Government Area of Ogun State.

During the incident, the pastor was tragically killed, and seven members of the church were abducted.

Soji Ganzallo, the commander of the Ogun State So-Safe Corps, confirmed the occurrence and provided details to the press in Abeokuta.

Ganzallo stated that the incident took place at around midnight on Saturday.

The Owode-Egba zonal command of the So-Safe Corps received a distress call regarding the attack on the RCCG’s Desires of Nations Parish.

The church members were reportedly targeted during a vigil, resulting in the kidnapping of seven individuals and the death of the pastor.

Upon receiving the distress call, the officers of the So-Safe Corps swiftly initiated a rescue operation.

Their primary objective was to ensure the safe release of the kidnapped victims.

He said, ” In the course of the operation, the officers engaged in a confrontation with the kidnappers.

” As a result, one of the abductors was fatally wounded, while several others sustained severe injuries.

” Fortunately, the seven church members were successfully rescued without harm.

” However, the remaining kidnappers managed to flee the scene.”

In response, a joint effort between the police and the So-Safe Corps was launched to track down and apprehend the fleeing criminals.

The deceased kidnapper’s body was transported to a nearby morgue for further procedures and identification.

Meanwhile, the authorities said they remain determined to bring the remaining perpetrators to justice.

This unfortunate incident has brought shock and sorrow to the local community.
