The newly appointed Special Adviser on Works to Kano state governor, Ahmad Bunkure has reportedly died.
Punch reports that Bunkure died on Wednesday in Egypt, about 24 hours after he was sworn in as a special adviser to the Kano governor.
Spokesman to the Governor Sunusi Tofa, confirmed the tragedy on Wednesday in a statement.
The statement described the death of Bunkure as tragic and an irreplaceable loss to his family and Kano State, at large.
However, Kano State Governor, Abba Yusuf, has expressed deep sorrow over the aide’s death.
“This is a heartbreaking moment for us as a government. Engr. Bunkure was a dedicated professional whose expertise and contributions were expected to drive our administration’s vision for development. His loss is deeply felt,” the governor lamented.
Condolences have continued to pour in from members of the Kano State Government and people across the state.
