Abia State Governor, Alex Otti, has addressed concerns over his choice to operate from his private residence instead of the Government House, stating that his priority is delivering good governance rather than renovating his official residence.
Criticism from the opposition has trailed Otti’s decision to work from his Isiala Ngwa South home.
In response, he explained that the Government House was left in a deplorable condition by the previous administration and would require substantial funds to fix.
However, he insisted that refurbishing the facility is not among his immediate concerns.
“What truly matters to Abians is the work being done, not where I stay,” Otti said.
“Providing good roads in Aba, Umuahia, and other areas, keeping the cities clean, improving hospitals, and fixing schools are far more important than my place of residence.”
He reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to addressing critical issues affecting the state, emphasizing that resources should be directed toward development rather than unnecessary renovations.
