Rivers State Governor, Sir Siminialayi Fubara, has vowed to protect the mandate entrusted to him by the people of the state.
Fubara made this declaration during the funeral service of the late Mrs. Erefori Basi Maeba, mother of Senator Lee Maeba, held in Luuwa Community, Khana Local Government Area.
Addressing attendees, the governor emphasized his administration’s dedication to the people’s welfare. “Our government is committed to prioritizing the interests of the people,” Fubara said. “We will defend the trust you have placed in us, ensuring that we deliver on our promises and make you proud.”
He also urged residents to lead impactful lives and contribute to societal progress, adding, “Living a life of purpose and setting a positive example is vital for lasting influence in our communities.”
Fubara highlighted the importance of cherishing and honoring parents during their lifetime, saying, “It is crucial to appreciate and celebrate our parents while they are alive—that is what truly matters.”
The governor commended the children of the late Mrs. Maeba for their devotion to their mother and acknowledged the support extended by friends and well-wishers to the Maeba family.
The service was attended by high-profile dignitaries, including Abia State Governor Dr. Alex Otti, former Rivers State Governors Chibuike Amaechi and Sir Celestine Omehia, and former Deputy Governor Engr. Tele Ikuru.
