Governor Siminalayi Fubara of Rivers State has criticized a media aide to the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister, Nyesom Wike, labeling him a “data boy” and “dog seller.” This was in reaction to comments made by the aide regarding Fubara’s recent project inaugurations in the Etche-Omuma area.
Speaking at the commissioning of the remodelled Government Girls’ Secondary School in Ahoada, Fubara questioned the aide’s qualifications and credibility, pointing out that despite working closely with Wike during his tenure as governor, he was not given any significant appointment.
“If you were truly capable, why didn’t they give you a proper appointment? Something must be wrong with you,” Fubara stated, insinuating that the aide’s current role reflects his limitations.
The Governor also called out those who rely on social media insults, urging them to focus on more meaningful contributions to society. “We will not glorify actions that add no value,” he said, emphasizing the need for impactful governance over trivial distractions.
Fubara reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to delivering strategic projects that address the needs of Rivers State residents. While acknowledging the efforts of past administrations, he stressed that his government is focused on creating lasting value. “Projects should not just be for show but must have real meaning,” he noted.
He expressed gratitude to the Ekpeye people for their steadfast support despite what he described as ongoing harassment and intimidation. He cited the detention of traditional rulers and his Chief of Staff, Dr. Edison Ehie, as examples of the challenges his administration has faced.
Fubara voiced optimism about overcoming these difficulties, declaring, “The truth always prevails, and the time of adversaries is limited. Their reign cannot last forever.”
His remarks highlight the ongoing feud between him and former Governor Wike, further deepening the political tension in Rivers State.
