Governor Umo Eno of Akwa Ibom State has warned newly appointed commissioner nominees against holding celebrations in Uyo, the state capital.
He made this clear on Thursday at the Government House during the inauguration of the Bureau of Statistics Board, Labour, and Industrial Committee.
He directed the nominees to celebrate in their local government areas instead of the capital city.
According to him, any nominee who holds a party in Uyo will be removed from the position immediately.
Governor Eno also stated that the State Security Director will monitor compliance with the directive.
He stressed the importance of nominees staying connected with their communities and revealed plans to track their visits to their hometowns.
In addition, he congratulated the newly appointed Special Adviser on Labour Relations, Sir Udo Kieran Akpan.
He also mentioned that the Bureau of Statistics will oversee contractors to ensure they provide jobs for local residents.
