Gov Aiyedatiwa Plans to Restrict Entry into Ondo Forests for Safety

Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa of Ondo State has announced a new policy to limit access to the state’s forests to ensure safety.

He explained that some kidnapping incidents in the region were linked to people arriving in trailers with no clear destination or identification.

The Governor made this statement during a recent interview, emphasizing the need for tighter security to protect the state’s forests.

He clarified that the new policy would not prevent farmers or hunters from continuing their work in the forests, as long as their activities were legitimate.

Aiyedatiwa stressed that anyone entering the area for valid reasons, such as farming or hunting, would be allowed.

However, he said that individuals traveling in large groups without proper identification or clear intentions would be monitored more closely.

He also pointed out that people attempting to enter the state with motorcycles for illegal activities, like unlicensed Okada riding, would be scrutinized.

The Governor confirmed that the government would keep track of who enters the forests to ensure the safety of the public and prevent criminal activity.

He emphasized that while the forests were not being completely closed off, the state would make efforts to secure these areas by knowing the identities and intentions of all individuals within them.
