Gombe Governor Orders Closure of Nightclubs

The Gombe State Governor, Muhammadu Yahaya, has directed the immediate closure of local nightclubs in the state.

The news was shared by Punch on Tuesday, August 29, 2023.

According to the report, the Secretary to the State Government, Professor Ibrahim Njodi, made the announcement on Monday.

He said the action was taken because of the complaints from the general public.

Professor Ibrahim also added that the closing of nightclubs also known as Gala houses in the state will reduce immoral and criminal activities carried out in nightclubs in the state.

In his words, “For the avoidance of doubt, the affected Gala Houses are located at Mile 3 Yola Road, Gombe, New Mile 3 Yola Road, Gombe, Mile 3 Reservoir Road, Gombe and Kalshingi Road, Gombe.”

The Nigeria Police, Nigeria Civil Defence Corps and the Operation Hattara were ordered by Gombe state Governor Muhammadu Yahaya to ensure that the directive is obeyed.
