Pastor Isaac Oyedepo, son of Bishop David Oyedepo, founder and presiding bishop of Living Faith Church Worldwide, also known as Winners Chapel, has announced that his ministry will begin Sunday worship services in Abuja, with a clear directive not to collect offerings from congregants.
The pastor made this revelation in an online message monitored on Tuesday and reported by Church Times. In a video posted on Sunday, January 11, Pastor Oyedepo explained that the decision was based on specific instructions he claimed to have received from God regarding the divine assignment of his ministry.
He stated that the central focus of Isaac Oyedepo Evangelistic Ministries is discipleship and the spiritual equipping of believers to genuinely follow Jesus Christ, rather than an emphasis on financial contributions. While acknowledging that collecting offerings is biblical and acceptable in many Christian ministries, he noted that his mandate requires a different approach.
“God gave me specific instructions not to collect offerings,” he said, emphasising that the ministry’s priority is the spiritual growth, maturity, and development of believers.
This announcement coincided with the formal launch of the ministry’s Sunday services, which are set to take place weekly in Abuja.
Pastor Isaac Oyedepo, born on February 26, 1985, officially began his independent evangelical ministry on November 28, 2023, after several years of active involvement in Christian leadership, ministry work, and outreach programmes within his father’s church.
