Gas tanker explosion destroys vehicles, properties

A gas tanker explosion in Sabon Wuse, Tafa Local Government Area of Niger State, has caused severe destruction, reducing vehicles, shops, and goods to ashes.

According to Afripost, The incident happened late Saturday night around 11 p.m. when a tanker was offloading gas at a filling station. The resulting fire spread quickly and raged for hours before firefighters arrived to bring it under control.

Witnesses said the explosion caused widespread panic, forcing residents in nearby areas to flee their homes. Abdul Sabon-Wusa, a local resident, described how the fire spread to a nearby petrol station, burning down shops and parked vehicles.

“We are grateful that no lives were lost and no one was injured,” he said. “If this had happened during the day, when people were going about their businesses, the damage could have been much worse.” He also noted that the flames were so intense that they could be seen across Sabon Wuse, showing how serious the incident was.
