Fuji Star Pasuma Addresses Taye Currency Controversy at Ibadan Show

Popular Fuji music icon Wasiu Alabi Pasuma subtly responded to recent tensions with his protégé Taye Currency during a live performance in Oluyole, Ibadan, Oyo State.

Pasuma, who had remained quiet following Currency’s widely discussed comments, took to the stage to share his perspective through a metaphor.

Using a story about a cat and its owner, Pasuma explained that despite the owner’s care, the cat responded with scratches.

While he did not mention Currency by name, the audience quickly understood the analogy. Pasuma, affectionately known as Ijoba Fuji, explained that although he would not abandon the cat, he would keep his distance to avoid further harm.

He also advised his drummer to refrain from playing any sounds that could be perceived as disrespectful, noting that their meanings could be easily misinterpreted.

Pasuma closed his message by affirming his preference for expressing himself through Yoruba philosophy.
