Rivers State Governor, Simi Fubara has approved the sum of N100,000 as Christmas bonus to civil servants under the government’s payroll.
Commissioner of Information and Communications, Warisenibo Johnson disclosed this in a statement on Tuesday.
He said the governor penned his approval for the bonus payment on Tuesday to let workers have a colourful Yuletide festivity in 2023.
The development comes hours after President Bola Ahmed Tinubu brokered eight-point resolutions to end the impasse between Fubara and the current Minister of Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike.
Reacting after the crisis resolution deal, Fubara said there is no price too big to pay for peace to prevail.
“There is no price that will be too big to pay to ensure peace prevails”, he stated.
