Fresh Update On Ekweremadu’s Imprisonment In UK

Former Deputy Senate President, Ike Ekweremadu, is getting on with life behind bars, a source disclosed last weekend.

The erstwhile Secretary to Enugu State Government (SSG) was found guilty under the Modern Slavery Act with his wife and physician, Dr. Obinna Obeta, by an Old Bailey jury in March and subsequently sentenced to over five years in jail in May for organ trafficking.

An official of the Nigerian High Commission said: “He’s fine, he’s fine.”

Asked if the wife too was getting on with life as an inmate, he said: “That l don’t.”

Recall that the Ekweremadus had arranged through Obeta for a young Nigerian to arrive in London for purposes of donating one of his kidneys for their sickly daughter.
