Four Injured in Rivers State Clash Between Wike, Fubara Supporters

A violent clash between supporters of the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, and Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, left four people with bullet wounds on Wednesday morning.

The incident took place around 7 a.m. at the Elele roundabout in Ikwerre Local Government Area.

Security forces were alerted to an unlawful gathering in the area and quickly responded.

While attempting to disperse the crowd, gunshots suddenly rang out, leaving several people injured.

The attackers fled immediately, but one suspect was captured. A single-barrel gun was found in his possession.

The injured individuals were rushed to hospitals in Elele for treatment.

Meanwhile, the police have launched a manhunt for the remaining suspects, some of whom are believed to be members of a local vigilante group known as OSPAC.

Authorities have assured the public that those responsible will be arrested and prosecuted.

Residents have been urged to remain calm and assist with any useful information as investigations continue.
