Former PDP Chairman Dies In Abuja

A chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Chief Victor Bala Kona, has reportedly died.

Reports obtained on Sunday morning revealed that Bala Kona passed away in the early hours of today, Sunday, August 27, 2023, in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja.

The deceased was the immediate past chairman of PDP in Taraba State.

Confirming his demise, the Acting chairman of the party, Alhaji Inuwa Bakari, said Bala Kona died after a protracted illness.

It was revealed that the former chairman was earlier flown abroad for treatment but was recently flown back to Nigeria, where he finally gave up the ghost.

Describing his demise as a rude shock to the party, Bakari said the party would no doubt miss him.

He said, “It is very unfortunate that he has to leave when we all need his leadership, political experience, and rare mobilisation skills.”

Bakari, who at the time of filing this report was in Abuja where Bala passed on, said the burial arrangements would be made public after due consultation with the family.
