Former Ondo lawmaker, Adebusoye dumps PDP for APC

A former member of the Ondo State House of Assembly, Olaniyi Adebusoye, has dumped the Peoples Democratic Party(PDP) for the ruling All Progressives Congress(APC).

Adebusoye was elected to the Ondo Assembly in 2007 to represent Okitipupa Constituency 1 on the platform of the PDP.

Frontfrank reports that the former lawmaker received the APC broom from Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa at an event in Okitipupa, Okitipupa Local Government area of the state on Monday to signal his formal defection to the party.

Also defected were a former Woman Leader of the PDP in Ondo State, Mrs Esther Ebiwonjumi, and some members of the party in Okitipupa Local Government.

Receiving the defectors, Aiyedatiwa called on long-standing and new members of the party to unite and collaborate effectively, stressing that the importance of working together was to ensure that the APC retain power in the state.

“The APC is one big family, and your integration is crucial to our success. Let us all prioritize the success of our party and work together for a better future,” he said.

Speaking on some of the challenges raised at the event, including infrastructure, electricity and employment, the governor promised to examine them critically and work towards resolving them.
