Contrary to initial reports suggesting that former Comptroller General of the Nigerian Immigration Service (NIS), David Shikfu Parradang, was kidnapped and killed, the FCT Police Command has confirmed that he was found dead in his hotel room in Abuja.
Parradang checked into Joy House Hotel at Area 3 Junction on March 3, 2025, around noon.

He arrived in a black Mercedes Benz and paid ₦22,000 for a one-night stay. Shortly after, he requested a hotel staff member to escort a female guest to his room.
The woman later left the hotel at about 4:00 PM.
Concerns arose when Parradang did not come out of his room.
In the early hours of March 4, a military officer who was his friend went to check on him.
The officer, accompanied by hotel staff, entered the room and found him lifeless, seated in a chair.
The police at Durumi Station were alerted and arrived at the scene to secure the area, take photographs, and collect evidence.
His body has been taken to the National Hospital for further examination. Investigators are questioning hotel staff while efforts are ongoing to locate the female guest who visited him before his death.
The FCT Police Command has urged the public to avoid spreading false reports linking his death to a kidnapping or assassination.
Investigations are ongoing to determine the cause of death.
