The Acting Head of the Audit Department at the Federal Medical Centre (FMC), Idi-Aba, Abeokuta, Mr. Adeniyi Oluwaseun, ended his life on Sunday by jumping into a well.
The incident took place in the Obantoko area of Abeokuta, Ogun State, shortly after he finished his evening meal.
His body was later recovered and deposited in a morgue.
It was revealed that one of his children was preparing for a wedding in the coming month.
Although the reasons behind his action are unclear, sources disclosed that he had a history of mental health challenges.
The Public Relations Officer of FMC Abeokuta, Segun Orisajo, confirmed the incident and expressed the hospital’s grief, Vanguard reports.
Orisajo described the late Adeniyi as a dedicated and hardworking employee, adding that his death shocked the entire management.
Attempts to reach the Ogun State Police spokesperson for comments were unsuccessful.
